How it works

The whole path of a rental, without the small print

From verification to review — what Rentza does, what it deliberately does not do, and where the money goes at each step.

  1. 1 · Everyone is verified

Renters and owners complete identity verification with a Namibian national ID or passport before a rental can happen. Documents are stored privately and only the verification team can open them.

  2. 2 · Find and request

Renters browse by category, town and availability, then send a request with a start and return time. They see the full estimate and the owner’s conditions before they send it.

  3. 3 · A binding agreement snapshot

Accepting the conditions creates an immutable agreement: the accepted conditions, the estimate, the return deadline and the late-return terms are frozen at that moment, so later edits never change what was agreed.

  4. 4 · Direct payment, no escrow

Rentza does not hold rental payments and never asks a renter to fund a wallet. The renter pays the owner directly. Rentza’s only charge is the owner commission recorded on the owner’s commission wallet.

  5. 5 · Handover and return evidence

Condition notes, accessories and photos are captured at collection and at return. Both sides see the same record, which is what makes disputes resolvable.

  6. 6 · Commission and ledger

When a booking is accepted, the 10% commission is recorded once, as its own permanent ledger entry linked to that booking. Cancellations create a separate reversal entry — history is never rewritten.

  7. 7 · Reviews both ways

Once a rental is completed, both parties can review each other once. Ratings build the public reputation that gets the next booking.

  8. 8 · Disputes reviewed by people

Report a problem from the rental, or open a support ticket. A report on its own never triggers a penalty — a reviewer weighs the evidence first, and outcomes can be appealed.

Trust & safety

Private documents

ID photos are stored privately and readable only by the verification team. Other members see a verified badge, never your documents or ID number.

Restrictions that are earned

A complaint never penalises anyone by itself. Violations are reviewed on evidence, and repeat violations can restrict rental access.

Deadlines that are enforced

Return deadlines are stored in Namibian time and checked on the server. Overdue rentals are flagged to both parties automatically.

A shared paper trail

Agreements, condition checklists, photos and ledger entries are all kept, so every rental can be reconstructed afterwards.

No money in the middle

Because Rentza never holds rental payments, there is no escrow balance, no release delay and no dispute about whether we released funds.

Mediation, not judgement by algorithm

Disputes are read by a person, both sides are notified of updates, and any outcome on an account can be appealed.
